Soyo's been marketing poorly-reviewed LCDs under the Honeywell name in the US for a few months now, and it looks like it's going to try and make up in size what it's lacked thus far in quality: get ready for the 82-inch 1080p Altura LE to hit a shopping channel near you. Actually, get ready for quite a few Altura LEs, since they'll be offered in five screen sizes as Honeywell's "top of the line". Hopefully that means the poor black levels and shoddy, impossible-to-defeat image processing of the original Alturas have been improved, but honestly, we're not willing to let this 303-pound behemoth anywhere near our now-precious Kuro to find out. This 82-inch Altura LCD will be released this fall.

Hitachi intros two new portable HDDs, SimpleNET NAS adapter If you'll recall, Hitachi GST snapped up Fabrik in February, and with that acquisition came the latter company's highly-regarded SimpleTech line. Today, Hitachi is introducing its first consumer products since the pickup, and while you'll notice a hint of 'Simple' in the titles, the branding is all Hitachi. First up is the water-resistant and shock-proof SimpleTOUGH portable USB drive (250/320/500GB for $99.99/$119.99/$149.99), which can survive a 3-meter fall and boasts a twistable USB cable that's permanently affixed to the enclosure. Next, there's the SimpleDRIVE Mini, which is a stylish, colorful portable HDD that is now shipping in red wine (250GB; $89.99), blue dusk (320GB; $109.99) and carbon fiber black (500GB; $139.99). Musical bra The fine folks over at Instructables have posted some wild mods in their time, but the musical bra you see above inhabits its own realm in terms of weirdness and lack of usefulness... unless you really want a bra that makes music of course. The speaker is on the front, with a battery pack between the shoulder blades at the back, and each cup is equipped with eight different "sounds" culled from a small keyboard, which are triggered by custom-made buttons sewn into the bra. Fair warning: you're going to have to be pretty adept with needle and thread to get this project done, but the final result should be fairly priceless. After all, who doesn't want a clunky, hideous sports bra that makes noise? Exactly.
