Cyberpower Gamer Dragon 9500 desktop

Image
Cyberpower Gamer Dragon 9500 desktop It's not the first Dragon-based gaming rig out there but, according to ComputerShopper, Cyberpower's new Gamer Dragon 9500 may just be one of the best bargains around, with it even able to do double duty as a media PC if you're looking to keep your number of boxes to a minimum. That latter attribute comes larger from its addition of a Blu-ray drive, but the system expectedly really delivers the goods when it comes to gaming, with the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics (with 2GB of DDR5 memory) helping to pump out some respectable frame rates at even ridiculous resolutions. The $1,499 base price will also get you a generous 1TB hard drive, 4GB of RAM and, of course, the 3.6GHz AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor at the heart of the rig.

Razer Mamba wireless gaming mouse

Image
Razer Mamba wireless gaming mouse Late last month, we had the opportunity to have a listen with Razer's Carcharias headset, and now we're seeing just how precise the same outfit's latest mouse is when it comes to clicking oh-so-carefully within Minesweeper. The downright gorgeous Razer Mamba just showed up on our doorstep, and we couldn't resist photographing the unboxing experience and hosting it up for all to enjoy. Our Mamba came housed in a special Razer suitcase that also included the aforementioned Carcharias headset. The mouse packaging alone was some of the most extravagant we've seen, with even the delightfully braided USB cable (yes, it's wired or wireless) encased in a soft black cover.

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA

Image
ASUS Eee PC 1008HA We're not totally sure we believe this just yet, but Notebook Choice has it that ASUS' Eee PC 1008HA -- which we got up close and personal with at CeBIT -- will begin shipping out across the pond next month. Reportedly, the base price will hover around £359 ($518), but again, we're not completely getting our hearts set on that 'til we hear something from the mouth of ASUS (or a legitimate distributor). Honestly though, that price sounds about right; as beautiful as it is, we were pretty underwhelmed by its very netbook-like performance during our brief time with it.

iriver E50 PMP

Image
iriver E50 PMP iriver's E50 PMP has had a bit of a roundabout launch since it first appeared on the scene back in December, but it looks like it's now finally available in at least a few parts of the world, and the folks at Le Journal du Geek have promptly gotten their hands on one and done the full unboxing and review honors. As was pretty clear from the early shots, this one's a sleek little device and, while it doesn't exactly pack a whole slew of features, it looks to perform all the basic tasks with welcome simplicity. On the downside, the 1.8-inch screen apparently leaves a bit to be desired, especially when playing videos and, while the included earphones are a tad better than the usual fare, the sound quality from the player itself is apparently just average.

2GB ICOO V616 DAP

Image
2GB ICOO V616 DAP The company seems to have realized that technology could not even begin to combat players already on the market and started thinking about what could be done to counter them and add a few sales. The answer is simple but complicated to carry out, lower the price as much as possible. That is why the DAP called ICOO V616 costs in Asia, only $14, it has 2GB of internal storage and a small OLED display. iPod Shuffle 3G is tiny and Horoscope Dap is cheap, but both don’t have screen and ICOO V616 has screen and cheaper. I do not know you but I look at it fondly.

Toshiba G450

Image
Toshiba G450 Well, now we know what Toshiba was up to when it released that wacky G450 HSDPA modem / cellphone hybrid -- it was an overt challenge to see if even the silliest products would be copied by the Shenzhen KIRF outfits. A challenge that's been met with vigor, it seems: check out the "M688" here, which has all of the G450's useless control layout with even less functionality -- it can't be used as a modem. $66 is all it takes to convince your friends you've totally lost it.

Lian-Li PC-C33 and PC-C34F HTPC

Image
Lian-Li PC-C33 and PC-C34F HTPC Honestly, there aren't too many empty HTPC cases hitting the streets these days, so it's quite refreshing to see Lian-Li pumping out a new duo for those still holding tight to true American values. Er, DIY values -- same difference, right? Anywho, both the PC-C33 and PC-C34F were designed to house micro-ATX / ATX form factors and boast plenty of room for internal HDDs, fans and a nice array of ports. The latter checks in with just a bit more room inside, not to mention a front-mounted, lockable HDD cage with a hot swap HDD capability. Hop on past the break for the full specifications, and since we know you're wondering, you'll be looking at $160 (C33) / $255 (C34F) for these when they ship in May.

Logitech Harmony Adapter for PS 3

Image
Logitech Harmony Adapter for PS 3 You've got to love it, don't you? Just a day after we caught wind of Logitech's Harmony Adapter for PlayStation 3 (via the always informative FCC), the aforesaid company has come forward and confessed to its plans. The good news is that the adapter is for real, and while we're still not being told too much about the device itself, we do know that it will operate with any Harmony remote and it won't take up a USB port on your console. In other words, it's a simple Infrared-to-Bluetooth converter, though it promises to give Harmony remote users "complete control (including power on / off) over the movie-watching experience on a PS3." We're pleading for more information on pricing and availability, but until that's received, just enjoy your weekend knowing that you'll be able to buy one soon enough.

Marantz high-end UD9004 Blu-ray / SACD player

Image
Marantz high-end UD9004 Blu-ray / SACD player We can definitely see where this is headed. Hot on the heels of Denon's DVD-A1UD and OPPO's BDP-83 comes yet another Blu-ray player that does just a pinch more than handle audio CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. Unveiled as a prototype over in Munich, the Marantz UD9004 is just one format shy (it's lacking DVD-Audio support) of being a complete "universal" Blu-ray player. Said device, which is slated to get official sometime in 2009, is built upon the $6,500 SA-7S1 SACD player (pictured) and features a 10-bit Silicon Optix chipset, 14-bit video DAC, an SD card reader, RS-232 control interface, support for BD-Live and an Ethernet port. Outside of that, details are nonexistent, but we'll definitely be keeping an ear to the ground for more.

HABEY BIS-6540HD mini HTPC

Image
HABEY BIS-6540HD mini HTPC Following up on its impressive debut earlier this month, HABEY's unveiled the BIS-6540HD mini HTPC that, like its 6550 counterpart, is capable of running an impressive 1080p signal with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor -- special thanks go to its HD hardware decoder for that feat. The fanless unit also features up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, eight USB ports, a built-in CF socket, two SATA II ports with SSD support, DVI and VGA outputs, ethernet, and options for wireless and HD TV tuner. No word on pricing or availability, but it looks like it's being marketed as an OEM product and we suspect it'll cost more than a pretty penny.

Linksys by Cisco PLTK300 Powerline kit

Image
Linksys by Cisco PLTK300 Powerline kit And to think, this here box had so much promise. At first glance, it's easy to fall head over heels with the PLTK300 Powerline box. After all, it features a four-port adapter that easily manages game consoles, Blu-ray players, AV receivers, etc., and passes those signals along your home network via power wiring. The rub? It's based on the older 85Mbps standard and not the fresher, speedier 200Mbps protocol. In other words, you may see dropped frames and the like if trying to push too much HD through here at once. Ah well, at least that news makes the Asia-only availability that much easier to live with.
