Spark Nano GPS Tracker

Image
Spark Nano GPS Tracker This device is one of those useful device that help parent or police, this is a GPS tracker designed for children or another couple to lose occasionally. Spark Nano GPS tracker is a small GPS transmitter, which is perfect for tracking children, for tough coating that makes it rugged and waterproof. The idea of this GPS tracker is a manufacturer of Lightning GPS, a company that is accustomed to working with soldiers and policemen, maybe that’s why the device is not so nice. Another feature of Spark Nano is panic button allowing someone carrying the device who feels threatened to alert the people is monitoring them to their exact position. Shuttle gets extra official with luggable X50 all-in-one PC

Image
Shuttle gets extra official with luggable X50 all-in-one PC Shuttle wasn't exactly tip-toeing around this one at CES in January, but the company has now gone the extra mile and gotten fully official with its new X50 all-in-one PC, which takes square aim at the likes of ASUS' Eee Top and other Atom-based nettops. As with ASUS' offering, this one packs a reasonably-sized 15.6-inch 1,366 x 768 touchscreen, along with the more nettop-minded Atom 330 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam and microphone, and a generous five USB 2.0 ports, among other standard fare. Unfortunately, it still doesn't look like this one is available to order just yet but, unless something major has changed since CES, you should be able to pick one up by the end of the month for about $500.

Hanwha's Duo for Laptop lets you doodle on your standard 15.4-inch laptop

Image
Hanwha's Duo for Laptop lets you doodle on your standard 15.4-inch laptop Here's a novel idea -- turning one's standard, non-tablet PC into a tablet PC. Hanwha Japan has just introduced its incredibly useful Duo for Laptop device, which sits gently atop one's laptop display and tracks digital pen movements via Infrared and ultrasonic technology in order to add doodling functionality to LCDs that were never designed to understand touch input. The only limitation -- and it's a big one -- is that this seems to only work with lappies possessing up to a 15.4-inch display. If that's kosher with you, you can snap one up for ¥9,980 ($101), or if not, you can just wait 'til these are announced for netbooks, ultraportables and desktop replacements.

SwitchEasy's ThumbTacks iPod mics

Image
SwitchEasy's ThumbTacks iPod mics SwitchEasy's ThumbTacks are far from being the first third-party microphones designed to function nicely with Apple's iPod nano 4G and second-generation iPod touch, but we'll be darned if they aren't the cutest. Clearly designed to mimic the iconic thumb tack, these itty-bitty microphones function with all third-party voice applications and can be selected in black, white or red. Not too shabby for $15.99 shipped, wouldn't you say?

Tanita BC-1000 Body Composition Monitor wirelessly

Image
Tanita BC-1000 Body Composition Monitor wirelessly Remember all those ANT+ wireless peripherals that were supposed to come flooding out after the introduction of Garmin's FR60 Fitness Watch? We suppose said flood has to start somewhere, and this is it. Tanita's BC-1000 Body Composition Monitor is hardly more than a sophisticated scale, designed to hold humans for just moments at a time while collecting measurements on muscle mass, overall physique, daily caloric intake, metabolic age, bone mass and visceral fat. From there, the unit can either send those details wireless to the aforesaid watch, or it can beam them to any PC with an appropriate dongle. The device is slated to ship this summer for $279.99 with a USB stick or $399.99 with an FR60 watch.

Super Talent UltraDrive ME / LE SSDs

Image
Super Talent UltraDrive ME / LE SSDs In terms of affordability, solid state drives still have quite some ways to go before they can actually be considered as viable replacements for most consumers. That being true, Super Talent is still doing its best to narrow the gap with the lower-priced UltraDrive families. Both the ME and the LE crews began shipping today, with the former arriving in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB flavors and the latter in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities. The LE lot rolls a touch faster at 230MB/sec (maximum read) and 170MB/sec (maximum write), while the ME editions are rated at 200MB/sec write and 160MB/sec read. There's no mention of the LE prices, but the UltraDrive ME drives can be snapped up now for $128 (32GB), $205 (64GB), $379 (128GB) and $645 (256GB) from NewEgg.

Sony OLED Walkman

Image
Sony OLED Walkman Considering that Amazon UK's first estimated ship date for Sony's OLED Walkman proved incorrect, we're a bit hesitant to believe this one. That said, the e-tailer has seen fit to post up an actual date rather than a vague window of time, so maybe it knows a bit more than Joe Six Pack this go 'round. At any rate, you can now pencil in May 10th over in the UK, with the NWZX1060B (32GB X-Series) priced at £283 ($395). Don't bet the farm on it or anything, but who knows what magic could happen if we all cross our fingers in unison.

Freecom ToughDrive Sport external HDD

Image
Freecom ToughDrive Sport external HDD Okay Mr. (or Mrs.) Fumblefingers, you've got your Toughbook for high-impact computing on the go, but when you just need to take that presentation into the office and you don't want to lug your bombproof notebook with you it's time for a rugged external HDD, and Freecom's ToughDrive Sport is the latest. It's a rubberized enclosure sporting drives in 250, 320, and 500GB flavors, protecting them from drops of up to 2 meters while its 256 bit MD5 hardware encryption protects your data from would-be spies -- and from anyone on a Mac, since it's PC-only. The $219 drive (for 500GB) doesn't appear to be waterproof, or even resistant, but hey, check out that USB cable. It looks like a climbing rope!

Mamiya announces DL33 for those who need more than 28 megapixels

Image
Mamiya announces DL33 for those who need more than 28 megapixels Facing a little bit of competition from the hands of Nikon, and finding its earlier 28 megapixel DL28 to be something of a success (despite its $15,000 price tag), medium format master Mamiya is introducing a new model set to drive the megapixel wars to new heights. The DL33 sports similar specs to the DL28, including a 3.5-inch touchscreen on the back, but bests its successor with a 36 x 44-millimeter, 33 megapixel sensor. That means 16-bit capture, 12-stop dynamic range, and ISO settings from 50 to 800. Other tweaks include a faster autofocus motor and an improved UI, but with image files clocking in at 67 - 190MB you'll probably need some improved storage, too. The camera will be available starting next month for $19,999 including a 55mm f2.8 or 150mm f3.5 lens -- but only if you act now.

Flip Video-maker Pure Digital

Image
Flip Video-maker Pure Digital Funny -- that patently absurd half a billion figure we heard tossed about earlier this month was low. In reality, Cisco has just announced its full intentions to acquire all of Pure Digital, the maker of the immensely popular Flip Video camcorder, for around $590 million in stock. According to Ned Hooper, senior vice president of Cisco's Corporate Development and Consumer Groups, the "acquisition of Pure Digital is key to Cisco's strategy to expand our momentum in the media-enabled home and to capture the consumer market transition to visual networking." To an outsider, the move may seem somewhat odd; after all, what's Cisco doing spending this much on a consumer product? Let's just say that uploading HD video requires loads of bandwidth, and Cisco's all about that. Expect the deal to close in Cisco's fiscal fourth quarter of 2009.

white Nokia E71

Image
white Nokia E71 You Yanks may bang on the Canucks for having to deal with those ridiculous three-year contracts, but every so often, something goes down in the Canadian mobile space that flat-out silences everyone beneath the border. Take this, for instance -- Nokia's white E71, which can only be scored over in Europe and now in Canada with support for native 3G bands, is finally on sale at Rogers Wireless. Oh sure, the only difference between this E71 and the black E71 is the colors involved, but we all know just how important that becomes when exclusivity is mixed in. The pain? $99.99 on a lifetime, er, three-year contract. Sorry, we had too.

Motorola EM330 launches on AT&T

Image
Motorola EM330 launches on AT&T Alright, look, it's no Touch ZINE HD, but the EM330 has one thing going for it that the ZINE HD doesn't: it's real. The lowly new clamshell out of Schaumburg just launched on AT&T, bringing EDGE data, a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD expansion up to 2GB, FM radio with recording capability, and -- get this -- a 3.5mm jack. Not much of a phone, granted, but it generally heartens us to see a real headphone jack on such a low-end device -- so low, in fact, that it'll run you precisely zero dollars on contract. It's available now, if you like.

Samsung Xplorer B2100

Image
Samsung Xplorer B2100 Following on its beefy-but-miserably-unattractive B2700 of last year, Samsung has introduced its rugged B2100 candybar under the Xplorer name. With quadband EDGE data and a 160 x 128 display, don't count on doing much browsing -- but if you throw the phone against a brick wall in a fit of rage over the slow downloads, at least it'll probably survive. It rocks mil-spec 810F compliance for rain, salt, ambient moisture, and extreme temperatures, plus an FM radio, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, microSD expansion, and a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording, making it a low-end sidearm capable of taking some of the worst abuse mankind can give it. Look for it around Europe starting next month.
