Handmade Wooden iPhone 3G Cases

The term ‘wooden iPhone case’ doesn’t conjure up an image of the sleekest, sveltest way to protect my device, but somehow Etsy seller Substrata has managed to create just that. Their series of handmade wooden cases for the 3G are shaped and sanded to compliment the iPhone’s curves, and the inside is contoured to hold the phone snugly. Just keep in mind that while your phone is being protected, you won’t have access to any of the buttons.
It looks like there are three versions of the case to choose from, depending on your wood grain preference, and given they’re handmade, the $84.99 price tag is not that surprising.

'Cause our old friend the "Child-robot with Biomimetic Body," or CB2, has now returned to haunt your nightmares. As you might expect, the bot hasn't simply spent its past two years of existence terrifying the staff at Osaka University, it's actually been learning, and it's now apparently able to make use of its 51 air-powered motors to move itself through a room "quite smoothly" -- with a helping hand, of course. What's more, the researchers behind CB2 are now also starting to talk about some of their future projects, including a new "robo species" that they say will have learning abilities "somewhere between those of a human and other primate species such as the chimpanzee." It was August of 2007 when Orange first got all weird on Nokia over the then-wild concept of a manufacturer-owned and operated music store -- bear in mind the iPhone hadn't launched very widely at that time -- and look how far we've come. The two companies have just announced that the venerable Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be available starting May 29 loaded up with Comes With Music, Nokia's all-you-can-eat service that brings endless downloadable tracks through its Music Store. In Orange's case, Comes With Music will be available on any of five special plans starting at £25 a month (about $38), meaning that you'll be able to nab music for the duration of your two-year contract. As long as DRM's in the mix, you're basically locked into your contract for as long as you want the definitive Bryan Adams collection that you've downloaded -- so we're hoping Nokia nixes that...
