QNAP's TS-239 Pro Turbo NAS sets sail


We know you love a good NAS, so we're pleased to report that the crew over at QNAP Systems has announced the TS-239 Pro Turbo NAS, a dual (2TB) bay Atom-based device that sports a 1.6GHz Atom CPU, 1GB DDRII memory, a none-too-shabby 350MBit/s throughput, and iSCSI target service for SMB and SOHO users. Other features include hot-swappable locking disk trays, two (count 'em!) Giga LAN ports, three USB 2.0 ports, two eSATA ports, and support for Windows, Mac, Linux, and UNIX operating systems. You can expect the myriad of features the company usually provides in their network appliances, including thin provisioning, online RAID capacity expansion, AES 256-bit volume-based encryption, SMS and email alerts, bit.torrent and EMule downloads, FTP and web server support, database and content management, print server, XDove mail, and Surveillance Station for video monitoring and recording. We still don't know why Nas doesn't have a contract with the company, but we have high hopes that Jay-Z can help him broker some sort of spokesperson gig.

The QNAP TS-239 comes packed with lots of useful features. The look is very powerful. It functions like a simple computer. Users can use the QNAP as a basic FTP server. Performance-wise, its excellent. For more details refer qnap ts-239

'Cause our old friend the "Child-robot with Biomimetic Body," or CB2, has now returned to haunt your nightmares. As you might expect, the bot hasn't simply spent its past two years of existence terrifying the staff at Osaka University, it's actually been learning, and it's now apparently able to make use of its 51 air-powered motors to move itself through a room "quite smoothly" -- with a helping hand, of course. It was August of 2007 when Orange first got all weird on Nokia over the then-wild concept of a manufacturer-owned and operated music store -- bear in mind the iPhone hadn't launched very widely at that time -- and look how far we've come. The two companies have just announced that the venerable Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be available starting May 29 loaded up with Comes With Music, Nokia's all-you-can-eat service that brings endless downloadable tracks through its Music Store. In Orange's case, Comes With Music will be available on any of five special plans starting at £25 a month (about $38), meaning that you'll be able to nab music for the duration of your two-year contract. As long as DRM's in the mix, you're basically locked into your contract for as long as you want the definitive Bryan Adams collection that you've downloaded -- so we're hoping Nokia nixes that...
